I continue my exploration of choice-making as a means of belonging, focusing specifically on my mother’s experiences within a religious group that brought her both pain and a sense of identity.
I toke these photographs, in the bedroom I was sleeping at during my residency using natural lighting for the composition of this work and everyday items like sheets for example as props to create that reliability.
Why are those particular photographs important to your research?
This is a love letter from myself to my mom, it’s a personal story of which has a direct impact on my life during he creation of this work my parents were separating and this project was a way to relieve the tension and stress she felt from this situation.

Continúo explorando la toma de decisiones como forma de pertenencia, centrándome específicamente en las experiencias de mi madre dentro de un grupo religioso que le aportaron dolor y un sentido de identidad.
Tomé estas fotografías en la habitación donde dormía durante mi residencia, utilizando luz natural para la composición de esta obra y objetos cotidianos como sábanas, por ejemplo, como accesorios para crear esa fiabilidad.
¿Por qué son importantes estas fotografías en particular para tu investigación?
Esta es una carta de amor que le escribo a mi madre; es una historia personal que tuvo un impacto directo en mi vida durante la creación de esta obra. Mis padres se estaban separando y este proyecto fue una forma de aliviar la tensión y el estrés que ella sentía por esta situación.
