Durante la investigación para la conclusión de mi tesis de maestría, abordé temas de género con mujeres gitanas a través de la fotografía. Las reverberaciones de este estudio teórico y práctico me llevaron a crear una posdata sobre cómo me afectó el desarrollo y la aplicación de este proyecto, más que eso, traté de repensar mi rol social como individuo y como mujer, lo que me permitió reencontrarme conmigo misma, con mis anhelos y sueños, con el anhelo de contribuir al desarrollo de una sociedad en la que las mujeres sean libres de ser quienes quieran y en la que sus posibilidades de existir no sean restringidas o reducidas a categorías de género.
¿Por qué son importantes estas fotografías en particular para su investigación?
Las vivencias que me rodearon durante el proyecto de investigación y la implementación de la intervención me llevaron a crear un espacio de desbordamientos que se materializó en imágenes. Fotografié lo que no podía entender, una búsqueda de algo en mí, o parte de mí, que se había perdido y gritaba por encontrar el camino de regreso. Escribí, me dividí en partes, hice mi propio rescate.

During the investigation for the conclusion of my master’s thesis, I approached gender issues with Roma women through photography. The reverberations of this theoretical and practical study led me to create a post-script on how the development and application of this project affected me, more than that, I tried to rethink my social role as an individual and as a woman, which allowed me to re-encounter with myself, with my desires and dreams, with the desire to contribute to the development of a society in which women are free to be whoever they want and in which their possibilities of existing are not restricted or reduced to gender categories.
Why are those particular photographs important to your research?
The experiences that surrounded me during the research project and the implementation of the intervention led me to create a space of overflows that was materialized in images. I photographed what I couldn’t understand, a search for something in me – or part of me – that had gotten lost and was screaming to find its way back. I wrote, I broke up into parts, and I made my own rescue.
